Saddle Pressure Scanning, Mapping, and Analysis

Your saddle position and comfort is incredibly important to ensure your overall enjoyment, comfort, performance, and health on your bicycle.  Saddle problems can lead to pain and discomfort in other areas of your body including shoulders, neck, back, hands, legs, and feet.  Many bicycle riders struggle with discomfort on their saddle often caused by areas of high pressure which are typically caused by incorrect saddle choice or position.

Pressure mapping is the latest in bicycle fit technology.  It takes the guesswork out of saddle selection and allows us to accurately measure how pressure is distributed on the saddle to determine which saddle and position will result in the most comfort and performance for you.  If you have had problems with comfort on your current saddle, or if you have tried many saddles with without success, our pressure scanning and mapping is for you.

Pressure Scanning, Mapping, and Analysis Session
Approximately one hour session at $200 (only $125 when added to one of our fit sessions)

Pressure scanning should not be considered a stand alone fit service.  Because your riding position greatly effects your saddle comfort, a good neutral riding position is a must.  If you have not had a recent bicycle fit, then it is recommended that the Pressure Scanning and Mapping service be added to one of our bicycle fit services.

The saddle pressure scan session is done either on your current bike positioned on a stationary trainer or on our state of the art  Precision Fit Cycle.  Starting with your current saddle and riding position, a thin sensor pad is placed over your saddle.  You then pedal your bicycle while your saddle position is pressure mapped via computer.  After only a few seconds we have a result that looks similar to the right.

After the scan is complete, we then analyze the results.  The software even allows us to view the scan in 3D and rotate it for a more detailed review.

After the initial scan, our highly trained bike fitter will make recommendations for possible improvement.  Improvements can be made by changing saddles and adjusting riding position.  Because riding position plays such an important role in how your saddle feels, it is important that we start with a good solid neutral position.

After each change another scan is taken and then reviewed until we conclude with an improvement that will address concerns and discomfort that were related to your saddle and position

In addition, saddle pressure mapping helps to uncover and diagnose bike fit challenges such as leg length discrepancy, hip rotation and mobility, weak and/or asymmetric stabilizing muscles, and poor posture.  This device is not just a saddle fitting tool but rather a unique and invaluable bicycle fitting tool that provides much more detail and insight into your your riding position.
